ODESZA electrifies San Diego with all-star EDM openers

As an avid fan of ODESZA since back in their early days (and of EDM music), I was thrilled to hear that they were embarking on a North American tour! Their unique sound and electrifying performances have earned them a dedicated following, and I couldn’t wait to experience their music live. So, when they announced a stop in San Diego, I knew I had to be there.

Little did I know that this concert would exceed all my expectations and leave me craving more.

Opening Acts:

The night began with QRTR and OLAN: two talented electronic music producers who set the stage on fire with their high-energy beats and infectious melodies. Their seamless transitions between genres — from deep house to progressive trance — had the crowd grooving. It was evident that ODESZA carefully selected these artists to create a cohesive and immersive experience for the audience.

Next up was TOKiMONSTA, a name that needs no introduction in the EDM world. Her experimental electronic soundscapes, intricate beats, and soulful melodies had the crowd trance-like. The last of the opening acts was Bob Moses. The band took the stage confidently and began playing their signature blend of EDM and live instrumentation. The crowd went wild as they played their hits; the energy in the room reached a fever pitch. It was the perfect lead-up to the main event — ODESZA.

As I stood among the euphoric crowd, it became abundantly clear that I was about to embark on an unforgettable musical journey. The American electronic music duo Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight — known by their stage name, ODESZA — delivered a show that will forever be etched in my memory as one of the greatest I’ve ever attended. The night was a sensory extravaganza, featuring pyrotechnics, cinematic visuals, incredible lighting, and a drum line performance that redefined the meaning of talent.

The concert’s opening moments with “This Version of You” were marked by anticipation and excitement. The crowd buzzed with energy as the stage remained cloaked in darkness. Suddenly, the first notes of “Behind The Sun” emerged from the depths of the speakers and the entire venue erupted into cheers. The duo’s signature sound — a mesmerizing blend of electronic beats, ethereal melodies, and intricate rhythms — had us all under its spell from the first beat.

The use of pyrotechnics throughout the show was nothing short of spectacular.

Intense bursts of flame would ignite in perfect harmony with the music, adding a thrilling layer of sensory immersion. As the bass reverberated through the crowd, the pyrotechnics lit up the night sky, making it feel like the heavens were dancing to the rhythm.
