HIRIE at San Diego’s Observatory North Park

It was a stacked night on November 23rd at San Diego’s Observatory Theater North Park, when friends and fans of reggae rock packed the building to the brim in eager anticipation of not one, not two, but FIVE bands! HIRIE concluded their six-week fall tour that night; a homecoming like none other commenced. SoCal reggae rock bredren Tunnel Vision started the music, with early bird attendees getting a prime view of the stage. As more people entered into the show, NorCal’s Thrive took center stage — a band that hasn’t toured in a hot minute. Reggae rockers were stoked to see that band back together after such a long hiatus!

Being a night of many bands, so were the breadth of genres present, with RDGLDGRN bringing hip hop to the forefront next. Turns out frontman ‘GRN’ was injured that night from a leg mishap a few days prior. You couldn’t tell by his performance, though. Locals Tribal Theory continued the hip hop-meets-reggae motif, riling up the crowd who had then grew tenfold. Last, but certainly not least, was the woman of the hour — Miss HIRIE herself! With her band of brothers beside her, HIRIE launched into songs from her latest Dreamer album, as well as old favorites like “Sensi Boy”. With an early February tour just announced for 2020, make sure to catch HIRIE in your town next year!
