Joey Valence & Brae bring Hyperyouth energy to eager Santa Ana fans

The Observatory in Santa Ana turned into a madhouse of energy, sweat, and hyphy old-school tunes as Joey Valence & Brae brought their Hyperyouth World Tour to a completely sold-out crowd. Fans already knew they were in for the most wild night of their lives.

AG Club opened the show, setting the vibe with their Bay Area sound. The crowd was all-in. Fans screamed every word, the pit opened up early, and the room literally didn’t stand still throughout that 30-minute set. Some would think AG Club’s performance was the headliner instead of the opener!

EWOOK, the official DJ for Joey Valence & Brae, took over the decks for a short 15-minute set next before the main act. The man didn’t waste a second when it came to hyping the crowd with early 00s bangers, such as Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Limp Bizkit — the list goes on. He worked the crowd like a pro, calling for sing-alongs with every single track he dropped.

Then came the chaos.

Joey Valence & Brae burst onto the stage with the kind of presence that only comes from two people completely in sync with their fanbase. The duo opened with tracks from their new album Hyperyouth, immediately getting the crowd going. Their modern-day Beastie Boys-style flow and modern punk rebellion slaps even harder live: each bar was spit with pure skill and fire, and their dynamic made it feel like two besties just vibing and showing off their musical genius.

Once again, the crowd’s energy went from 0 to 100 in seconds, with fans crowd-surfing, moshing, and getting house staff nervous. Security even had to clear the photo pit for a brief moment for media safety. The air-conditioned Observatory got hot within seconds, too, but that’s when you knew the show was turned up to 11.

Midway through the set, JVB remixed many electronic music sounds from the early naughts, such as samples from The Bloody Beetroots, Skrillex, Pendulum, and more that brought many millennials back to their old rave days. But even newer fans knew what was up when JVB brought out those early tracks, because the room was jumpin’!

At the end of the night, fans left the venue drenched in sweat, hoarse from yelling, and high off energy.

Joey Valence & Brae’s latest album is the soundtrack to chaos and pure, unfiltered fun. Santa Ana got the full experience… and the tour continues on! JVB is going international now, finishing up the last several stops in the US before heading to the UK. Get your tickets here.
