Bass heads gather for Wooli’s insane Incinerate LA

SoCal bass heads were in for a night full of heavy-hitters at “Wooli Presents Incinerate” at The Torch within the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. With a lineup that guaranteed nonstop bass and unlimited energy, the night was destined to be an unforgettable gathering for fans of dubstep and riddim.

Wooli, whose real name is Adam Puleo, closed out the night at The Torch, bringing his blend of melodic future bass and grimy riddim. Representing Ophelia Records and having toured with dubstep pioneers like Excision, Kayzo, Adventure Club, Seven Lions, and Slander, Wooli has carved out a niche quickly in the dub scene, considering he toured for the first time ever in 2019. Hailing from the East Coast, he left his mark in LA with a set that was both memorable and absolutely insane.

With a mix of heavy dub, low-tempo detox, wobbles, and some bass house in between, the crowd didn’t stop moving!

If you got there early enough, you would have caught Wooli’s other alias, Stumpi, going B2B with Sabritaz. This purely bass house set was the perfect tone to kick off the show with bass music all night long. Second up was VKTM, who represented the riddim sub-genre of dubstep with minimalistic beats and aggressive drops — a highlight for the hardcore heads. His set was a masterclass in getting the crowd moving with headbanging and lots of high knees before Cyclops took over.

Midway through the night, everyone got a heavy dose of old- and new-school dubstep with Tape B, seamlessly blending hip hop samples over dubstep beats for all OG and new ravers to throw down to. But who was direct support? The mysterious question marks on the show flyer was revealed to be none other than visual wizard and hardcore dub icon Excision himself! Being a long-standing icon in the electronic music industry, Excision was definitely an unexpected treat of headbanging heaven.

Then there was Wooli, with his biggest show and biggest stage yet.

The production throughout the evening was topnotch, with crazy visuals, laser beams, and a sound system that delivered bone-rattling bass. But, for Wooli, the crowd of enthusiastic EDM lovers fed off his raw energy, creating a feedback loop of constant rail-riding.

For fans of dubstep and riddim, this was a gathering that exemplified the very best and most versatile of what bass music has to offer in the EDM scene. Whether you were there to witness Wooli’s mind-melting melodies or to feel the earth-shaking drops of Excision’s guest set, LA bass heads were in their element till the very end. Cheers to Bassrush for making it happen!
