Blue Ridge Rock Festival is FINALLY only mere days away! If you know me or have read any of my articles (not even related to Blue Ridge) every other word out of my mouth since last year is “Blue Ridge”! Last year’s fest was one of the best weeks of my life and I’ve been counting down the days since it ended. So many memories and friendships were made, and I discovered some of my now favorite bands. Yes, some things went wrong last year, but looking back, I really don’t have anything to complain about or anything that tainted my experience whatsoever. Right when I thought nothing could top last year’s lineup, Jonathan Slye comes in with probably the best festival lineup I’ve ever seen!
What I love most about Blue Ridge though, is the fans vote on EVERYTHING.
From artists to experiences to vendors, pricing and amenities, the people get to call the shots. The festival organizers understood the problems that did occur last year and instead of just brushing it off like it didn’t happen, they came back and asked the people what they would want changed or added. They also did a ton of polls on their socials, where we got to choose which artist we wanted to see on this year’s lineup. Last year, I found out about the fest way too late, so I’m glad I got to actually participate in the voting this year! A lot of the bands I picked actually made it on the lineup, too, which is so exciting!
This year’s killer lineup includes headliners Ghost, Slipknot, Disturbed, Mudvayne and other artists like 3 Doors Down, A Day To Remember, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Alice Cooper, Tenacious D, I Prevail, Stone Temple Pilots, Gojira, Skillet, Anthrax, Pierce The Veil, In This Moment, Motionless In White, Ice Nine Kills, Daughtry, Jelly Roll, Nothing More, Sevendust, Wage War, Pop Evil, Badflower, Starset, Black Veil Brides, Sleeping With Sirens, Cannibal Corpse, Spirit Box, Grandson., We Came As Romans, Bad Wolves, Hatebreed, Bad Omens, Fit For A King, Memphis May Fire, Zero 9:36, Slaughter to Prevail, Nonpoint, From Ashes To New, Dayseeker, Erra, Municipal Waste, Point North, Jeris Johnson, Siamese, Hollowfront, Awake At Last and SO many more! This year’s fest is hosting almost 200 artists!! Guaranteed there will not be a single dull moment!
The Club Experience is also making a comeback this year. The Club got a little revamp and will now be held onsite, running from 11pm-2am Thursday-Saturday. Featured at this year’s Club is Nelly, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Tech N9ne, Waka Flocka Flame, 3oh!3, Emo Night Brooklyn and Nobel Poets. With there being so many emo bands playing at Blue Ridge, I can imagine some of them are going to make an appearance at Emo Night!
The latest announcement from Blue Ridge was that Monster Energy is taking over, with a special Monster VIP Deck, Monster Girls, VIP Experiences with Anthrax and Spirit Box, and, of course, free Monsters! Even though the fest is only less than two weeks away, there are still a few more announcements to be made; since a few bands had to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances, the new full lineup is being announced later this week. With that, there is still one more artist reunion show to be announced and I really haven’t the slightest clue of who it could be. I know a lot of people in the Blue Ridge Fan Page are saying it could be FlyLeaf, but we’ll see soon!
We are so excited to be back with our Blue Ridge Family soon! Get your passes while you still can, though, because they are already 96% sold out! Lets sell out this bitch, so Todd Stone can get his tramp stamp! If you know, you know 😉
