Foghat departs for 2020 spring tour

Foghat’s classic ‘shaken not stirred’ cocktail of blues, funk, psychedelic rock and crispy butt-kickin’ rock ‘n’ roll is back for live listening! The band is currently on tour and these legends should not be missed! Formed in 1971, they have always rocked the hell out of fans — live and in studio. Lucky for us, these bad boys don’t seem like they are going to turn the volume down anytime soon.

According to lead singer Charlie Huhn, ”The band just wants to make sure that after every show, [audience members] are all convinced that they just got rocked, from the second we start the first song to the end of the show.”

The band announced a jam-packed tour that started at the beginning of this year, making stops in Colorado, California, Mississippi, Vegas, Texas, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, parts of Canada, the UK and more! Steady touring is part of what makes the band so exciting. Their intensity is off the charts and their energy is dynamite — to be expected from a band with such rich history.

In their time, Foghat has never stopped touring, releasing new music and classic out-of-this-world live albums. This earned them eight gold records, one Platinum FORRR and one Double-Platinum for Foghat Live, which included staples like “Slow Ride” and the band’s cool cover of  Willie Dixon’s “I Just Want To Make Love To You”.

Far from complacent about their success, the band released a whopper new studio album back in 2016, titled Under the Influence, and another live album in June of 2017, Live at the Belly Up; both of these albums are foot-stomping, party coasters that received well-deserved recognition worldwide. Through his love to just play, his strong dummer style and his trademark upbeat attitude, creator Roger Earl has kept the Foghat love and spirit alive. Even after sad losses, like that of co-founder Lonesome Dave Peverett in 2000, guitarist Rod Price in 2005 and Craig Macgregor in 2018, the band continues to persevere.

For the upcoming tour, Earl and Huhn joins lead guitarist Bryan Bassett (who played with Wild Cherry and Molly Hatchet) and Rodney O’Quinn (bass mentee of original bassist, the late Craig MacGregor). O’Quinn has since proved he knows how to set the mood for a solid set and has become an awesome permanent addition to the band.

The show is sure to spark nostalgia and excited energy from a wide variety of fans, from classic rockers who started listening to them in the 70s to classic rock admiring Millennials, who have discovered and embraced their steady style. This is special, because the band, the old fans and the new are all working cohesively to keep this legacy well and alive. Get in on the action and be part of the revival with tickets throughout the U.S. and UK in 2020! Find out more on their official website via the links below.
