San Francisco’s main event, Outside Lands, is returning triumphantly to the City By The Bay for 2021 to the relief of ticket-holders, festival fans and music-lovers everywhere. That said, it’s going to be a little late. Pushed back from its annual August positioning to over Halloween Weekend 2021, Outside Lands is back and bigger than ever (with a few minor lineup changes from its original 2020 projections and a whole lot of mischievousness).
For the first time ever, Outside Lands is transforming for the holiday season.
Known for its lavish ‘lands’, this music and arts weekend event caters to everything culturally-acclaimed. From music (obviously), all the way to wine, beer, weed, live art and cuisine, Outside Lands brings to the table so much more than just a typical festival experience. Now, to just put all attendees in a costume, add in some hired ghouls and goblins, decorate it all like a haunted house and you’ve got yourself a once-in-a-lifetime fest you don’t want to miss this upcoming October 29th-31st.

Or, maybe it was the larger than life lineup. Repressed from a year sans live performance, we all know festival-goers around the globe are itching to get back in action; it’s of no surprise the fests that remain this year are selling out. However, unlike others offering a mediocre rundown, Outside Lands 2021 is far worth the investment. Don’t believe us? How about a little Tame Impala, Lizzo, The Strokes, Tyler The Creator, Vampire Weekend, J Balvin, Rüfüs Du Sol, Kehlani, Glass Animals, Zhu and Young Thug. Those are just the headliners. That’s right — that’s just the tip of the iceberg, folks! Joining these mega-acts are Kaytranada, Khruangbin, Lord Huron, Nelly, Brittany Howard, Burna Boy, Melanie Martinez, 24kGOLDN, Troyboi, Angel Olsen, Sofi Tukker, Earthgang, Marc Rebillet, Sharon Van Etton, SG Lewis, Flo Milli, A R I Z O N A, JPEGMAFIA, Drama, Dr. Dog… the list goes on and on. It’s really a mixtape for everyone, considering all musical genres are represented in just the above sample alone!
Like we said, tickets sold out in minutes. But, don’t be discouraged! Those were early bird weekend passes with single day tickets to come. Social-distancing is expected although details have yet to be outlined as to what specific COVID measures festival staff will be taking. Count on wearing a mask — it’s Halloween, after all!
