The Skints – East-London's answer to modern reggae – are currently weeks away from dropping their third album FM, an endeavor that gained heightened anticipation after the four-piece decided to sign with a new label. And not just any label, mind you. The Skints have officially joined forces with Easy Star Records in January: a record company grouping them among some of the most prestigious of reggae names such as Passafire, Rebelution, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, New Kingston, The Green, Cas Haley, Easy Star All-Stars, The Black Seeds, Blackbeat Soundsystem, Sugar Minott and John Brown's Body – to name a few. With the pre-sale for FM going sky-high as a result of Easy Star's brand recognition, it's undoubted that The Skints are on a fast-paced road to success.

Even though digital markets don't offer the album until March 9th (UK) and 10th (USA), The Skints have debuted their first single “This Town” in order to give the fans a taste of what's to come. As an uptempo ode to their hometown, the band infuses rap with traditional dancehall, splices in sound effects for psychedelic measure and then breaks it all down with a reggae scat bridge to match the ever-flowing backbeat. Featuring Tippa Irie and Horseman, the track is laden with so many elements that it's almost impossible to sit still while enjoying.
