Atreyu, one of the biggest powerhouses in the metalcore scene, released the final chapter of their EP series, titled The Moment You Find Your Flame back in early October. If you didn’t catch it, the release depicts love that is lost as a result of our own insecurities and inner demons. Preceding the EP drop was an anthemic “Gone” single, inspired by guitarist Dan Jacobs.

The track explodes with the band’s synergy and power riffs climaxing throughout.

“We draw strength from each other and give each other the space and support to be the best, most creative person we can be,” Jacobs explains. “And together, right now, that makes us the best band we’ve ever been.”

“Watch Me Burn” and “God/Devil” are more tracks from this phenomenal album, both heavy yet beautifully composed with deep melodic tones and haunting vocals that will move through you. The entire album has so many layers; it pulls listeners through different realms, almost moving through sonic portals.

The Moment You Find Your Flame sheds light on inner strength. We all have to face our inner demons and negative thoughts at some point… not allowing our insecurities to overshadow our lives.

Vocals and bass Porter McKnight shares this about the new album” “‘The Moment You Find Your Flame’ is the path you’ve set out on to recovery. You’ve followed the glimmer of hope and potential, and the way forward is beginning to reveal itself. But it is still only a little flame. It needs nurturing.”

Atreyu defines the metalcore genre and their successes have not gone unnoticed.

They have burned up the charts and always remain true to their own sound. They’ve managed to break into the Top 10 in the Billboard 200 more than once; two of their albums, The Curse and Lead Sails Paper Anchor, are certified gold with two million albums sold worldwide while surpassing 600 million streams. The band’s last album, Baptize, hit 65 million streams alongside the Top 10 rock radio hit “Warrior” featuring Travis Barker.

The source of their power clearly comes from their bond and passion for music. It is clear Atreyu has found their “flame”. After joining Iron Maiden in Canada this past fall, as well as performing at festivals like California is For Lovers, Rocklahoma, and Blue Ridge Rock Fest, Atreyu is confirmed for next year’s When We Were Young Fest presented by Goldenvoice in Las Vegas, as well as an Australian and European legs in the coming springtime. Plus, have you checked out their new full-length The Beautiful Dark of Life???!
