The Sound in Del Mar, California hosted an old-fashioned rock-and-roll show on a Sunday night in late September. Dogstar, featuring none other than Keanu Reeves on bass, has music that would fit comfortably on local alternative rock radio station 91X today, as well as at any time in the 1980s or 1990s — when the […]
Sevendust and Theory of a Deadman brought their Dead/Seven Tour to The Sound in Del Mar, California on September 19th, 2026. The Sound is one of the newest venues in the San Diego area, located at the front of the vast Del Mar Fairgrounds. Although part of a larger system, the venue itself is beautiful, […]

Bill f*ckin Murray. Who doesn’t love this man?? The guy is a comic icon, the epitome of acting success, a golfer, a writer… and he leads a band? This I had to see. And, apparently, so did the rest of San Diego. Performing at The Sound in Del Mar (like literally within the Del Mar […]
On a Sunday night, Trampled by Turtles and Shakey Graves came to The Sound in Del Mar for a perfect end to a beautiful Southern California weekend. It was the second night of two consecutive evenings at the venue; the two acts bringing an incredible lineup of folk-influenced stomping and hollering to both. This was […]

San Diego was bestowed with a headliner side show with beloved elder-emo Adam Lazzara (lead vocals), John Nolan (lead guitar, piano, vocals), Shaun Cooper (bass), and Mark O’Connell (drums) on April […]
