On November 6th, Punk in the Park was held at the Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, CA. Saturday was headlined by Pennywise and included sets from 13 other kickass punk bands! For people that were 21+ with a tasting pass, you were able to enjoy unlimited samples for half the day from some regional breweries with over 100 beers to try.
Featured breweries had everything from IPAs to seltzers, so all attendees had something to enjoy.
The day started off with a ton of energy, as Hilltop Rats hit the stage and got the early fans going for the fun ahead. Next up came Raptors, Jughead’s Revenge and Chaser, keeping everyone riled up and into the afternoon. Then came The Bombpops, who I was really looking forward to seeing. They did not disappoint! After The Bombpops came The Last Gang, who I hadn’t shot since 2017 and they were still as much fun to see and shoot as I had remembered. They were then followed by The Riverboat Gamblers. After that, it was supposed to be Pulley, but they were replaced by one of my all-time favorite bands, Voodoo Glow Skulls; I have been watching that band since they played in backyards and it’s epic to witness them still kill it every time!
Next up came T.S.O.L. and Guttermouth — both of which killed it, as usual. Then, Lagwagon came out and got everyone going for the last three bands of the night. The Vandals, who are always so much fun, were direct support and it was great hearing so many favorites, including “Anarchy Burger” and “Urban Struggle”. The night was closed out by punk veteran Pennywise, who always brings the fire. Their sets are always fun and just so full of energy! It was a great day and were were all pumped for Day Two.
