Quinn XCII cooks up a savory San Diego show for ‘Lunch’

Quinn XCII (pronounced “92”) brought his All You Can Eat Tour to San Diego’s Cal Coast Open Air Theater on September 20th, giving fans just a taste of new music on the horizon. The Detroit native brought singer and rapper Kyle (or “Superduper Kyle”) to start the night off right in a big way — and Kyle delivered.

When the lights dimmed and the crowd cheered, somebody took the stage, but it wasn’t Kyle.

He greeted the crowd and smoothly moved across the stage as another gentleman entered, also slyly grooving as takes his position. Out of nowhere, Kyle stormed the stage and the trio immediately begin to perform an insanely choreographed dance number. We. Were. FLOORED! This was not something I had expected from this show, but I was completely there for it, and the crowd agreed. Hoots and hollers could be heard throughout the entire venue as the guys maneuvered while Kyle effortlessly delivered his delightful vocals. The singing, the dancing — it was flawless. The energy of the crowd could be felt in every single seat of the theater. The crowd was sad to see them go, but also bittersweet as it meant Quinn XCII was next!

First and foremost, when the crew drew back the curtains and covers to reveal Quinn’s INSANE stage setup, I was so impressed. The stage was set to look like a classic diner, “Mustard Mike’s”, complete with booths, a service counter, and the old-timey fridge full of glass bottles of cola. Three band members took the stage at their instrument setups that were beautifully lit and the crowd built with anticipation. When Quinn took the stage, the crowd completely erupted. Quinn humbly greeted the packed theater before going into his hit song “Candle”.

Quinn and the band were dressed as chefs and they were ready to cook.

He was also celebrating the release of his second (of three) EPs of 2024, titled Lunch. Cleverly, his three EPs will be respectively, Breakfast, Lunch, and, yes, Dinner. Quinn explained to San Diego that he loves mustard and they created this idea for the diner from that fun fact. Quinn treated the crowd to new tunes from his EPs, as well as the old favorites the fans love like “Stay Next To Me” and “Straightjacket”. After an amazing 20-song set, the band closed it all out with “Look How Far We’ve Come”.

The All You Can Eat Tour will continue for over 20 more dates across North America throughout the fall, concluding on October 29th in St. Petersberg, FL. Fans who are still hungry for more Quinn XCII can check out the Breakfast EP and the Lunch EP, both available wherever you stream your music! Fans can also anticipate the release of the Dinner EP, teased to come later this year.
