Kota The Friend & friends pack Orange County’s Garden AMP

Garden AMP in Orange County brought in fans for an evening of independent hip hop as Kota The Friend showed up for his Just Happy To Be Here Tour, presented by Out Da House Productions. The show wasn’t just about Kota; it also highlighted several up-and-coming artists from Los Angeles and Orange County, giving local talent a chance to perform in front of a packed crowd.

Out Da House Productions has built a reputation for supporting independent artists and this lineup was a great example.

The night featured performances from Freddy Bam Bam, Baqi, Vladdy, KingJAE, MiC THA GOOD KID, Creatively K3v, Apollo Bebop, and many more. Freddy Bam Bam got the crowd moving early with his energetic stage presence, while Baqi delivered a smooth performance that connected well with his audience. Vladdy and KingJAE each brought their own flavor, showing why they’ve become familiar names in the southern California scene. MiC THA GOOD KID and Creatively K3v kept the momentum going from there, with thoughtful bars and confidence onstage, while jazz-meets-hip hop group Apollo Bebop rounded out the opening lineup leading up to Kota.

When it finally came time for Kota The Friend to take the stage, the energy in the venue immediately had fans at the barricade trying to get a closer view. The Brooklyn native has built a career without relying on a major label, developing a loyal fanbase through consistent releases, DIY music videos, and creating his own label for music and skate culture called FLTBYS along the way.

Performing songs from his latest album, Just Happy To Be Here!, songs like “Long Beach II”, “Mallory”, and “February” had fans singing along, showing just how much love fans have already for his new music. Kota also mixed in fan-favorites from past albums, speaking off-the-cuff to concert-goers in between with the same positive attitude that comes across in his music. He thanked everyone for supporting independent artists and even brought a couple onstage to dedicate some of his lover boy music to them!
