Tokyo Tea Room mesmerizes all in Los Angeles

UK-based band Tokyo Tea Room blessed Los Angeles with their presence on a Wednesday night at the Teragram Ballroom as part of their second tour ever in the United States. I had the pleasure of being able to go to their first US tour run back in April, so when I heard they were going to come back, I knew I had to capture them in their element.

I arrived to the venue a few minutes before Tokyo Tea Room took the stage and the vibes were high.

Everyone was in a good mood. I personally attended with a bunch of friends, old and new — 10 of us total. There’s nothing more that I love than being able to see one of my favorite artists alongside the people I love.

When the house lights turned off, the entire crowd erupted in cheers. As every member of Tokyo Tea Room approached their spot onstage, I became more and more eager for them to begin. Vocalist Beth Plumb absolutely killed it with her dreamy vocals. The dim house lights accompanied by the soft instrumentals turned the whole room into an ethereal state; everyone in the crowd stood silent in awe of what was happening in front of them. Each song concluded with an eruption of applause. Throughout the night, the band played a variety of songs from their discography, including some from their latest album, Feel Forever — released two weeks ago.

What was great about this night was not even the music — it was what happened next! After the set, Tokyo Tea Room members made their way to the merch table for an impromptu meet-and-greet with concert attendees, chatting and sharing laughs with fans taking copious amounts of photos. The band was lovely to chat with in the brief moment I shared with them. If you haven’t listened to Tokyo Tea Room, do yourself a favor and check them out, because they are honestly one of my favorites and are so absolutely talented. Hopefully, they will come back to the United States soon!
