A magical night with Jack Johnson in Lake Tahoe
It was a beautiful evening in Lake Tahoe and such a great day to escape the 110 degree heat in the Sacramento Valley to witness legends performing live — Jack Johnson and Ziggy Marley! Harvey’s outdoor arena is set amongst the pine trees and the sky was the perfect backdrop for Jack’s Meet the Moonlight Tour.
This was my first time seeing Jack in concert and it was a beautiful experience.
From when he first came out, the crowd was going wild. It was great hearing the whole audience whistling “I Got You”, too. I loved hearing some of our longtime favorites: “Breakdown”, “Better Together”, “Banana Pancakes”, “Good People”, as well as covers of Sublime‘s “Badfish” and The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven”. At one point Jack (of all trades) jumped on the drums while his drummer played guitar and sang a song inspired by being a Lake Tahoe native. One of my favorite songs of the night was “Do You Remember”, written for his wife of 29 years. We also learned that Jack Johnson is not that good at playing poker and once lost all his money to Willie Nelson! Such a fun experience, I highly suggest catching a show on this tour if you can!
