ODESZA immerses Los Angeles in two nights of magic

The ODESZA concert at BMO Stadium on June 7th, was a transcendent experience. As a longtime fan of ODESZA, having followed them since their early days in Bellingham and Seattle, I felt electric for this show.

Before the concert, I had the chance to immerse myself in the ODESZA Last Goodbye Cinematic Experience; this documentary — a culmination of their journey so far — offered profound insight into the duo’s creative process. It showcased their immense effort in crafting their live shows, from the initial brainstorming sessions to the final stage setup. The documentary was a visual and auditory feast, with behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, and live performance clips, deepening my appreciation for their work and, ultimatey, heightening my excitement for showtime.

The atmosphere on Night One (of two) at BMO Stadium was not just magnetic and magical, it was a testament to the strong bond between the band and their audience. Everywhere I looked, fans were enjoying the music; they were smiling, dancing, crying, and sharing the collective joy and awe of what ODESZA creates.

This was a community united by the love for ODESZA’s music.

ODESZA’s setlist started with their most recent album, The Last Goodbye, immediately pulling the audience into the latest (and, reportedly, the last) chapter of their musical journey. As the concert progressed, they performed hits spanning their entire discography with tracks from A Moment Apart, In Return, and Summer’s Gone. The energy in the stadium was off the charts.

Not only did ODESZA have incredible and meticulously thought-out visuals, they also incorporated a spectacular fireworks show. The stunning pyrotechnics synchronized perfectly with the music, creating a breathtaking fusion of sound and light. The fireworks, a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes, added an explosive element to the already highly immersive experience, lighting the night sky and filling the stadium with bursts of color.

The addition of a drumline brought an extraordinary element to the performance, as well.

It was a symphony of rhythm and energy. The synchronized beats — a hallmark of ODESZA’s music — reverberated through the stadium, creating moments of pure euphoria. I remember the exhilaration I felt when the drumline first took centerstage during “One Day x Ki Theory”… their powerful beats echoing in my chest.

Honestly, I got lost in the music, feeling a surge of energy during the upbeat tracks and a sense of calm during the more reflective ones. The concert was a rollercoaster of emotions; I felt a profound sense of connection and community among the thousands of fans. ODESZA has always been more than just music, though. They have built a world where their fans can unite and feel a part of something bigger. This world is a space where we can share our love for their music, connect with fellow fans, and feel understood. The BMO Stadium concert perfectly captured this culture, leaving us unforgettable memories.

In conclusion, ODESZA’s performance reaffirmed why I have been a fan since their early days and how they will always hold a special place in my heart. The experience was so phenomenal that I couldn’t resist attending the second day, eager to relive the magic and immerse myself again!
