Satsang
Living up to the true meaning of 'Satsang', the band started their fall tour inviting along with them Tim Snider and Justin “Chitty” Chittams (of Nahko and Medicine for The People). The band played an intimate show November 2nd at The Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles to a crowd of fans that were there for the spiritual experience their lyrics lead you to. You see, 'Satsang' means “a spiritual discourse” or “sacred gathering”… and the band truly delivers.

Drew McManus, lead singer, spoke about becoming detached from any identity outside of playing music. So, to avoid quitting all together, the band decided to take six months off for Drew to focus inward and on his family. While being told they were going to lose their momentum and their fans, quite the opposite occurred. Satsang have started a headlining tour and sold out 3/4 of their shows. Drew also spoke about touring in the van and listening to music on the road, sharing that their influences range from Rancid to Tupac.
Tim Snider joined Satsung on stage for the uplifting song “I Am”, bringing fans to tears. Justin “Chitty” Chittams joined the band onstage for a drum off with Ben during a cover of “One Love” that left the crowd singing along even after the song was over. They also played their new song “Free” that was written with Chitty. Drew then announced that they have been working on a new album that is due out in March and will be touring in support of it. They gave us a sneak peek of the unreleased song “Breath”. If you can’t catch up with them on this tour, be sure to see them in the spring!
