Super Girl Surf Festival 2026: Day Three

The 20^th anniversary Super Girl Surf Festival wrapped up on August 23rd, 2026 at the Oceanside Pier in Oceanside, California. The SMKFLWR Stage in the Junior Seau Pier Amphitheatre was rocking all afternoon, with a wide variety of genres represented, capped off by rapper B.o.B and electronic duo Hippie Sabotage. The World Surf League competitions culminated with Hawaii’s Alana Johnson winning Longboarding for the second consecutive year, while Ruby Stringfellow became the youngest-ever WSL Surfing champion at just 14 years of age. Stringfellow was born in Costa Rica, grew up in Hawaii, and lives now in Orange County, CA.

San Diego’s Summer Romero finished second in Longboarding, while San Clemente’s Mia McLeish was runner-up in the WSL Qualifying Series final.

Super Girl Surf Festival has been celebrating women athletes and artists for two decades, continuing to add locations, sports, and activations to each year. In addition to surfing competitions, Sunday’s action included a beach volleyball tournament, Las ChicAZ & Poseidon Foundation skateboarding competition, Women’s Pro Beach Soccer Showcase, and the Shokz Open Water Swim, featuring Olympic gold medalist Summer Sanders. It was truly a celebration of women’s and girls’ athletic prowess, as well as an outreach to the next generation in female sports.

The music stage was a family affair, with three bands featuring sisters and one consisting of brothers. In contrast to Saturday’s SoCal beach vibe, the Sunday rundown was like a wave crashing over the crowd; there was Texas rock, Orlando pop, San Diego pop punk, Michigan alternative, Atlanta hip hop, and NorCal EDM.

The common thread being passionate performances and crowd participation.

RōZY is a Texas rock band led by sisters Zoe and Molly Flores, rounded out by Brandon Martinez on lead guitar and Aris Weathersby on bass. They have played this event before, returning to the seaside stage like they owned it. Anyone expecting things to be ‘easy like Sunday morning’ was aggressively pulled into the day like an espresso shot to the soul.

Up next was Hello Sister, an Orlando-based pop rock trio made up of literal sisters Grace, Gabriella, and Scarlett Mason. Having appeared on America’s Got Talent, the group impressed with their vocal harmonies, mentioning that playing Super Girl Surf at Oceanside Pier has become something of a tradition for them.

By midday, Flailing Idiot — another all-female pop punk trio from San Diego — took centerstage. Lead singer Sammie Augusto performed double-duty this weekend, singing and playing guitar with The Cherry Bombs on Friday’s bill. The teenager had plenty of energy left for Sunday’s show, as she rocked all over the stage, producing a high-energy whirlwind of a set.

Solo artist Pearl then took over, real name being Hope Waidley.

Her sister Clara Waidley is a singer-songwriter, as well, playing guitar as part of Pearl’s full backing band. The sisters grew up surfing on Lake Michigan and got their music careers going by traveling cross-country, busking on the street to fund the trip. Their performance was engaging, complete with Hope sharing a bottle of wine with the entire band during one song before bringing two dozen women up onstage to dance and help sing her signature tune, “No Man”.

As awards were being handed out, the musical stage welcomed Atlanta rapper and six-time GRAMMY-nominee B.o.B next, aka Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. Best known for the hits “Nothin’ On You” and “Airplanes” (two defining pop rap crossover singles of the early 2010s), B.o.B. worked the stage and crowd with confidence and swagger, proving to be highly entertaining.

To end the 20th annual was Hippie Sabotage, an electronic duo made up of brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer from Sacramento, California. Having accumulated more than 13 billion streams across their catalog, those who spent the long weekend soaking up the sun and beach vibes rejoiced in some indie trap tunes as the fun-filled, momentous weekend drew to a close.
