Sweet summer in the LBC with Dirty Heads, 311, Atmosphere, & Rome

It was a hot summer day in Long Beach as fans made their way to the heart of the harbor for a night of reggae, rock, hip hop, and plenty of SoCal vibes. Dirty Heads and 311 brought their So Glad You Made It Tour, with Rome and Atmosphere joining the lineup for an evening packed with four very different performances.

The show also gave fans the opportunity to experience Long Beach’s newest concert venues.

Located along the waterfront, near the iconic Queen Mary, the F&M Bank Amphitheater provides a beautiful backdrop of the downtown LBC skyline. With the sun still shining and temperatures soaring from a heat wave, Rome was the first artist to take the stage. Formerly of Sublime With Rome, the heat did not stop him from bringing a mellow energy to start the show.

Next up was Atmosphere — a group that’s always a good time. The Minneapolis hip hop duo of Ant and Slug added variety to a lineup while substantially upping the night’s pace. Even for audience members who arrived just to see 311 or Dirty Heads, Atmosphere’s undeniable energy ultimately won the entire crowd over.

By the time the skies turned pink and orange, and the temperature became a lot more manageable, 311 — a band that’s been performing for decades — was up next. And their longtime experience on a stage definitely shows. Their set included favorites such as “Beautiful Disaster”, “Love Song”, and of course, “Amber”.

The crowd sang and vibed out through the set, especially to the main bangers!

Dirty Heads finished out the night as the final act of the evening and the scenic waterfront could not have been a better match for their SoCal attitude. The band brought their usual antics centerstage, smiling and dancing from start to finish.

For those who don’t know, Dirty Heads have built a reputation for creating music that feels perfect for summer and hearing them perform outside near the water made for a perfect experience. The combination of their music, the location, and the time of year made was simply incredible. And after spending hours in the summer heat listening to three other artists, fans still had plenty of energy left for these main men. What a way to end summer in celebration!
