Tower of Power brings the funk to South Lake Tahoe

R&B legends Tower of Power graced Bally’s in South Lake Tahoe on February 11th and old-school funk fans couldn’t have been more excited! This was the premiere performance with ToP for Mike Jerel (a finalist on hit TV show, The Voice).

Not only that, but original band member Jody Lopez sat in on the song “Still Be Diggin On James Brown”.

ToP has been performing since 1968 and still has three original band members: Emilio Castillo on tenor sax, Stephen “Doc” Kupka on baritone sax and David Garibaldi on drums. It was an amazing show! I loved watching all the couples dancing. My husband, being a drummer, has always wanted to see David Garibaldi on drums, so it was a special evening for him. They definitely brought the funk! Catch Tower of Power at a city near you on this tour if you can, for you will have a blast!
