Tucker Wetmore serenades sold out winery crowd in Saratoga, CA

Friday, August 21st, chart-topping breakout country star Tucker Wetmore was all smiles as he brought his Brunette World Tour to beautiful Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California. Nestled high up in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Mountain Winery offers picturesque views without a single bad seat in the house. 

If you got to the show early, Adele’s Garden had a special treat for guests, offering free line dancing before opener Ashley Anne got everyone warmed up right at 6:30pm. Thanks to the fun line dancing event and the excitement for Tucker, Ashley didn’t have to work too hard to get the eager audience to their seats just in time for the sun to begin to set and offer shade from the hot summer day. 

Nashville-based artist Ashley Anne opened with a fun and engaging set, with her Virginia Beach roots shining through her songs and performance. The set, which included a cover of “Fishin’ in the Dark” by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, also had fans singing along to new single “seat of my skirt” off her new EP, GENERATIONAL HEARTBREAK. 

Barefoot, Ashely Anne looked like she had just walked onstage from the beach with a golden glow.  

William Beckmann was up next before Tucker, switching things up with a different style of country. The Texas native proffers a classic country style with mariachi influences after being raised near the border. On his most recent album, Whiskey Lies & Alibis, Beckmann includes a song sung entirely in Spanish, which he performed live this night titled “Por Mujeres Como Tú”. William Beckmann also played some new songs to be released soon, like “Runaway” and “You Only Love To Break My Heart”.

For the final performance of the night, Tucker Wetmore brought the heat after a quick break. Hot on the heels of releasing his new EP, Sunburn Mixtape, and returning home to the west coast, the Washington native was giddy about being back in California, mentioning several times how much he loves it here.

Tucker also told the crowd that this show was fun for a couple of different reasons, stating that, “I can’t do intimate shows like this anymore, where I can see everyone’s faces. This is probably the last small show, so I’m taking it in and probably going to go longer on the piano”.

Throughout the set, Tucker would hop on the piano — the first instrument he picked up as a young kid. One medley included Maroon 5’s “This Love” among other country classics; Tucker even threw in epic covers of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Journey’s “Faithfully”.

Sprinkled throughout were the Tucker Wetmore originals we all came to see, such as “Sunburn”, “Who Told You That”, “Wine Into Whiskey”, “When I Ain’t Lookin’”, “Casino”, “Whiskey Again”, “What Would You Do”, and “3,2,1”. For the grand finale, Tucker saved “Wind Up Missing You” and “Brunette” — not before some parting words, thanking God and everyone that SOLD OUT the night. Lastly, Tucker asked everyone to please love each other and sing along to the last couple of songs, which we all did happily.

Now it’s my turn to thank Tucker and his team for a great night.

I’m so happy I can say I saw him at one of his last “small shows”. If you’re still able to catch this tour before it’s over, I’d highly recommend it since his next tour will most likely be in stadiums!
