On November 4th, political activists and punk rock legends Anti-Flag released “A Dying Plea Vol. 1”. The single’s debut was both timely and intentional in regards to the United States 2020 election and the general unrest being felt around the globe.
2020 has been a year of awakening all around the world: from political leaders who do not seem to care to unfathomable natural disasters to health pandemics, this year has resulted in general global unrest. Yet, this has also been a time to find out who you are and where you stand.
Anti-Flag’s new single aims to question belief structures by re-examining social views in an effort to create a better world.
Since their inception, Anti-Flag has always been rooted in politics, as well as the promotion of awareness and action through music. This band continually walks the walk, leading by example for the world at large. “A Dying Plea Vol. 1” is no exception. All proceeds from the single will go on to benefit several organizations, including SistersPGH, Sari UK, The Justice La Coalition and My Block My Hood My City.
The song further features the vocal talents of De’Wayne, Marcia Richards (of The Skints), Jalise Della Gary and Tom Morello (of Rage Against The Machine). Each artist was asked to write a verse special to them in regards to their thoughts on the world’s current state of affairs and, considering each artist chosen is fairly vocal already, we cannot wait for you guys to hear it!
