Rock musician and fine artist Billy Morrison presented an art exhibition entitled “A Moment in Time” at Motor Cars LA last week, a collection of contemporary pieces based on photography by Mark “Weissguy” Weiss.
Weiss is a world-renowned photographer who has created a huge collection through the decades, working with such legends as Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, KISS, and beyond.
And many members of these bands attended the event premiere, celebrating 1980s rock and metal legacy.
Billy Morrison has been Billy Idol’s guitarist for the past 15 years, also spurring out notable work as a solo artist. In between, he transforms his experiences in the industry into fine art pieces with experimental techniques.
With the help of his friends and colleagues (like Jacob Burton, Brett Scallions, Erik Eldenius, and Paul Trudeau), Morrison performed several songs for his A-list guests and, at the end of the night, Billy Idol even came onstage to sing his “Rebel Yell”!
Livestreaming the event in real-time was the X5 Podcast team. The exhibition featured 12 pieces from Morrison with a special 13th painting and prints going to support mental health, suicide prevention, and trauma counseling through the Above Ground charity spearheaded by Morrison and Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. Cheers a great night of celebrity and sophistication!
