Blended Festival’s fine wine tour gears up for Austin, Texas

On September 10th and 11th, there’s a new festival in town. If there’s anything Austin knows, it’s how to festival. For months, we’ve eagerly awaited the moment the festival world pops that cork and returns to their bubbly business. Pop! Check one, two… sip,  …ahhh.

The folks behind San Diego’s intimate 2019 Blended Music and Wine Festival have conspired to bring Austin out of quarantine in style: with a glass of bubbly in one hand and a culinary treat in the other.

This September, we’ll find ourselves on the sunny Long Center lawn, enjoying a handpicked lineup of hip hop, country, pop and EDM with the stunning Austin city skyline as a backdrop. One of three cities graced by Blended Festival this fall, Austin’s iteration will feature a dynamic lineup. From headliner Kaskade to 3LAU, Bryce Vine, Madds, Loud Luxury and Nelly, they’re not stopping there. Friendzone, Brandi Cyrus, Kim Lee, Lamar and On The Outside will hit the stage over two days. Incorporating the best of Austin music, heavyweights Blackillac and Audic Empire will also grace the stage.

We can’t ignore the spectacular location. The Long Center Lawn at Auditorium Shores is arguably the most beautiful and accessible outdoor downtown venue, and it’s close to everything Austin has to offer. From great hotels, restaurants and bars, the scene on Congress, South Lamar and Sixth Street, to the opportunity to enjoy nearby green spaces at the famous Zilker Park, Barton Springs and Town Lake — all of which are walkable from the festival.

If the live music, wine and craft cocktails, a stunning location, culinary experiences, wellness activations and the Maxim VIP village aren’t enough to please the palate, perhaps the two free wine tastings included in every GA pass will. Festival-goers are invited to sample a vast offering of varietals from domestic and international wineries. Don’t make any mistake: we plan on investing time in the 100-foot MWS wine tent, where My Wine Society will be on hand to help us discover new favorites! With the help of their handy MWS app, attendees have an opportunity to learn and sample as part of the festival experience. We can’t wait to discover a new favorite winery and find the perfect, crisp, summery Grenache Blanc to pair with Nelly’s “Hot in Herre”.

Executive Sommelier Matthew-Loren Lindsey hopes to bring wine to the forefront at Blended Austin: “It’s time to make wine accessible to the younger generation. I’m here to tell you that wine is the perfect drink for a music festival.” His enthusiasm is contagious. “I dream of standing in the crowd for Kaskade and, instead of seeing hundreds of hands waving cheap beer cans, it’s glasses of Sauvignon Blanc.”

To be honest, that really doesn’t sound so bad to us.

Blended’s Two-Day GA pass includes general admission to the festival, two wine tastings, access to the Welcome Village with selfie activations and art displays, the Culinary stage, Wellness Lounge, full bars with specialty cocktails, craft beer and world-renowned wines, food truck row and offerings from Austin’s best local restaurants, plus games, activations and a music lineup to die for — all for just $149. There are also VIP, Premium VIP and multi-festival passport options available. You’re even supporting an amazing cause, because $2 from each ticket purchased is donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We’ll cheers to that!

Admit it — you’ve been dying to get back to the festival scene, just like us. Blended Festival Austin hits all the right notes (and deliciously so). Join us September 10th and 11th at Austin’s Long Center Lawn for an unforgettable upscale weekend of music, wine, culinary activations and wellness. Tickets are still available, but we can’t promise they’ll last! Grab yours here or via the links below.

Cheers to good wine, great music and new friends!
