Bonnaroo drops mind blowing lineup for 2023

Bonnaroo, the legendary music festival located in Manchester, Tennessee is gearing up for its 20th festival on June 15-18th. This year has the potential to be its biggest year yet, and today marks a huge milestone in the lead up to the festival because they dropped their much anticipated lineup!

Bonnaroo 2023 will be headlined by Kendrick Lamar, Odesza, Zeds Dead, Liquid Stranger and the Foo Fighters!

These headliners are amazing because they perfectly embody the diversity that so many people appreciate about ‘Roo. Kendrick is said to have just finished touring the greatest hip-hop performance of all time in his Big Steppers Tour, and is considered to be the greatest rapper alive right now by many. Odesza is unarguably one of the biggest names in electronic music, and puts on a spectacular live show that even non-edm fans will be amazed by. Zeds Dead and Liquid Stranger will provide an insane and trippy start to the weekend by opening things up for a late night dance fest on Thursday. And finally…the Foo Fighters, a legendary band who perfectly fills the “legacy” headliner spot that Bonnaroo historically closes out the festival with on Sunday night. In the wake of losing their long time drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022, the band has cut back on their touring schedule, so their return to playing shows will no doubt be an emotional and cathartic experience. I can’t think of a more perfect way to end the 4 day marathon that Bonnaroo becomes. My prediction is that there will be very few dry eyes by the time the Foo Fighters are half way through their set.

This lineup goes far far deeper than just the headliners though. In fact, a lot of the undercard is made up of bands who could easily headline other festivals in their own right. Artists like Paramore, Lil Nas X, Subtronics, Portugal. The Man, Griz, Baby Keem, and Korn (!!!) all put on headliner worthy performances, and are sure to draw an insanely diverse crowd of music lovers from across the country.

The full lineup goes even deeper than that, and is sure to have something for everyone.

To me, the beauty of Bonnaroo truly lies in the smaller bands that you might not be familiar with. I have discovered several of my favorite artists of all time by stumbling into their set on the farm and getting my face melted by a band I had never heard of before. For the full lineup scroll down!

There will surely be more announcements coming from Bonnaroo’s team in the months leading up to the festival. Often they make lineup additions, announce surprise sets and activities, their list of vendors, who will be telling jokes in the comedy tent, and much more! Keep your eye on Top Shelf as we keep you up to date on everything Bonnaroo!
