Crab cakes and reggae, that’s what Maryland does!

Reggae Rise Up Maryland returns to the Baltimore Peninsula for the second year in a row following their wildly successful 2022 first-year installment. Boasting a lineup stacked with all your favorite reggae acts–plus some newcomers for funsies–the three day festival takes place June 23-25 and all but screams summer vacation. With estimated temperatures hovering in the mid-80’s, Reggae Rise Up Maryland is primed for water guns, bikini tops, and ice cold bevvies.

The full lineup dropped earlier this week and, whew, thrilling doesn’t even begin to describe it. While the bill is fairly typical of an American reggae festival, organizers have chosen the perfect blend of old and new to give us the sounds we crave and the novelty we seek. Headliners include recently announced Coachella guest Stick Figure and Kona’s own Pepper (Friday), Jamaican heavyweights Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Koffee (Saturday), and Santa Barbara favorites Rebelution and Iration to close out the festival Sunday night.

On-site facilities include a medical tent, security, water bottle refill station, local food vendors with vegan/vegetarian options, several beer and cocktail bars, bathrooms and handwashing stations, and a vendor village where you can purchase local wares and artist merchandise. There is an exhaustive list of allowed and banned items, according to the official festival website, but the number one no-no is bad vibes.

Dad vibes, however, are encouraged. Ever the family friendly event, Reggae Rise Up Maryland is all-ages and kids under six are free with a paid guardian. Tickets are currently on sale, with General Admission and VIP options for the whole weekend or single day. Note that chair passes are $5 and required for low-back chairs and/or umbrellas. General Admission and VIP vacation packages are available for those traveling to the festival and include accommodations, 100% ticket guarantee, wristband, and private entrance/bathrooms for VIP package purchasers. They offer a 5-installment layaway option for vacation packages with only $20 down.

Getting into town on Thursday and looking for a party? Exclusive add-ons to vacation packages include an open bar party at The Charles Baltimore on Thursday and a bottomless mimosa brunch Sunday morning at Cross Street Public House. Both events are 21+.

Gates open at 12pm and the music starts at 12:50, everyday. See you there!
