Field of Haze Festival announces final line-up

Festival season is finally upon us and like many reggae lovers, you probably have started to wonder which festivals are the most worthy of your attendance, dedication, and support this time around. Excitement is in the air, spring has officially sprung, and reggae music is calling you in all directions. You simply cannot attend all of the festivals that are being advertised – despite your best efforts to do so – and many more keep popping up every year! One such newbie fest is the Field of Haze Music and Lifestyle Festival, going down this April 16th at the Field of Dreams Ranch in Oroville, California.

Founded by California Roots mastermind himself, Jeff Monser, Field of Haze is one of the earlier festivals of 2016, meaning that you have time to attend it, recover your bank account, and head to all of the others without delay! You might recognize the Monser name further through his coordination of Cali Roots spin-off festivals, such as the California Roots: Carolina Sessions and Dry Diggings in Northern California every September. Field of Haze differs from the rest by being a one-day extravaganza versus the usual Monser multi-day event. Because of this, Field of Haze packs as much reggae heat as possible into one day (although not literally, since it would be highly unusual for April to accompany a scorching summer sun). And, we mean A LOT of heat: headlining the 2016 festy is Pepper, with The Green, J Boog, and hip hop fusion legends Zion I as direct support. Also performing throughout the day is Through The Roots, Thrive!, Arden Park Roots, J Ras with IrieFuse, Synrgy, Darenots, Simple Creation, Stay Positive Sound, and last, but not least the raddest rockers of Southern California sound themselves – Bad Neighborz.

It's not just the music that brings people to this festival either; it's the lifestyle, the energy, the art, and the fact that it's an official pre-420 kickoff bash! Even though Field of Haze is an all-ages event, there will be a designated 215 Smoking Zone for medical marijuana patients to enjoy, ages 18 and older. There, medical cardholders can not only choose between the best strains to ingest, but also digest some of the latest contemporary cannabis culture – some weed-ucation, if you will. To accompany the inevitable munchies from that group (as well as the rest of the non-smoking section) are a variety of food vendors, all offering gluten-free and vegan options. Any lifestyle is welcome here! Not a smoker? Not a problem! The festival will also feature craft beer from Lagunitas Brewing Company and Altamont Beer Works. Not sure what makes an IPA an IPA? Don't worry, friend. Just like in the 215 Zone, the festival will have a Brewery Knowledge Zone, where anyone over the age of 21 can partake in getting their beer knowledge on. Walking around the grounds, there will be a wide array of art, clothing, and craft expositions in between the music stages, allowing attendees to be able to take home part of their experience. And as the reggae scene grows, so does the movement, and that is why Field of Haze is built around the importance of togetherness and unity.
