Bringing folk and jam band and funk and EDM to the forefront, Pennsylvania’s favorite festival is back in its sixth year at Slippery Rock. That’s right, in a few short days, Resonance Fest is upon us! Changing its locale to the serene station at Coopers Lake (a 500-acre reserve with lakes and hills and even a castle!!), Resonance is set to rise above the rest this September 19th-22nd, 2019.
So, what makes this get-together so unique? Not only is Resonance boasting an eclectic lineup for the ages, but it stays true to its roots — no matter the location! Presented by Essential Productions, Mammoth Music Group and one of the performing bands, Papadosio, Resonance realizes its a one-of-a-kind experience for festivalgoers and the community at large. Guitarist and vocalist for Papadosio Anthony Thogmartin comments, “The excitement is palpable for what will be the best Resonance festival yet! We’ve got a whopping four sets of sound and sight for you, including a bunch of new music and even a Gorillaz tribute set! This is the one ‘must not miss’ Papadosio event of the year.” The up-and-coming multi-faceted band is beyond stoked to host this festival, considering they’ve been big fans since its origin in their home state of Ohio back in 2014.
Who else joins the 6th Annual? Brace yourself, this is some funkadelic shit. EDM extraordinaire Tipper has signed onto spin two sets, showcasing his ambient turned trip hop turned nu skool breakdowns at full capacity. Progressive rock band Umphrey’s McGee will also be there, with folky jammers Twiddle and enigmatic pranksters Pigeons Playing Ping Pong (both playing three full sets over the four days). If that wasn’t enough jive for you, Tycho is joining the party. Who can stand still to that? More artists on the list include Andy Frasco & The U.N., Bumpin Uglies, Big Something, Tropidelic, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Leftover Salmon, Zach Deputy… just to name a few.
You do not want to miss out on this funky, freaky fest in the wilderness and considering the party starts a week from Thursday, now is the time to lock down your passes. General admission weekend passes are still available at the low, low price of $225 for all four days. It doesn’t get much more affordable than that! Want to skip the line? GA comes with early access for only $25 more. VIP options are always the way to go to party like a true rockstar, so for those that want to live up Resonance to the fullest, packages start at $450 and include all the perks. There’s even a pancake breakfast with an artist meet-and-greet thrown in there. Naturally, this is a camping-encouraged event, with car camping onsite for $100 on top of admission. RVs are welcome, too! For those that can facilitate their rig without power, RV camping is only $150. Double that if you want to plug in, unfortunately. Still a great deal, regardless.
