Welcome to Rockville Fest set to break records for 2022

Welcome to Rockville is returning to its regular schedule this May 22nd through 25th! Due to COVID, the festival’s 2020 installment was postponed to November of 2021; that was the first time in this festival’s history that it was held later in the year — not to mention, at its new home at the Daytona Speedway. The choice to move the fest from its original home at Jacksonville’s Metropolitan Park to the new venue has allowed attendance to be upped by nearly 70,000, making Rockville’s 10th year (2021) a record-breaking attendance measure of 161,000 people!

Get ready to experience the biggest Welcome to Rockville yet.

This year’s lineup includes headliners KISS, Korn, Guns N’ Roses and Foo Fighters, with support from Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin, Megadeth, Shinedown, Rise Against, Smashing Pumpkins, Janes Addictions, In This Moment, Black Label Society, Bad Wolves, Seether, Parkway Drive, Skillet, Ministry, Sevendust, Hatebreed, Bush, Nothing More, John 5, Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, The Struts, The Hu, Spirit Box and so many more!

Welcome to Rockville Festival promoter Danny Wimmer (who also brings us Inkcarceration, Louder Than Life, Aftershock and Sonic Temple) tweeted out, “We knew we had to do something massive to follow the biggest Welcome to Rockville in history… We’re looking forward to breaking records at the the world center of rock with you, see you in 2022.” This lineup is definitely record-breaking, in my opinion. With Korn having just released their 14th studio album, Requiem, in early February and Foo Fighters just recently getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I really couldn’t ask for a more iconic group of headliners.

Welcome to Rockville also just announced five more bands that will be joining the lineup: Steel Panther, The Sword, We Came as Romans, Crown the Empire and Escape the Fate. Steel Panther isn’t part of the four-day lineup, but festival-goers can catch the band playing a special camping kick-off party on Wednesday!

For the full experience, you can camp onsite — as in right there, in the middle of the speedway.

It’s close enough to stumble back to your trailer after the show. Please note, there are limited spots left, so be sure to jump on it! If camping isn’t your thing, there are plenty of close hotel options still available, as well. Most tickets for the fest are still available, too! All GA passes (as well as Thursday and Friday VIP) are still up for grabs. Saturday, Sunday and full weekend VIP tickets are already sold out, but you can still join the waitlist for those. As a VIP, you’ll get dedicated entrances, access to dedicated viewing areas, premium food and drink options, and special VIP spots that include bars, comfortable furniture, audio and visual streams of the main stage, air conditioning and private bathrooms.

Secondary experiences, food vendors and other fun things to do around the fest are still to be announced. In years past, though, they’ve had a giant ferris wheel; I really hope that it makes a return this year, because I’ve never been able to go to a festival that has one! I’m so excited to kickoff my festival-filled year with Welcome to Rockville in just two months!
