Omik, born Kimo Carpenter, brings a special blend of island vibes, traditional reggae riffs and west coast sounds to create his unique, up-and-coming style. This seems fitting, considering the LA-resident migrated to the mainland from his Hawaii home to continue his musical journey. After teaming up with fellow Mensch House Records and Island Empire friends, Common Kings, Omik delivers a sugary, sweet love ballad to the public with “Uncertain Love”. GRAMMY-nominees Common Kings not only produced the track, but bassist Ivan Kirimaua co-wrote it alongside Omik, thus “Uncertain Love” is a conglomeration of Omik's smooth vocals, new age beats and a polished pop finish that only Common Kings can pull off.

With a beautiful key intro, the track establishes its uncertainty right off the back with muted horns and an ethereal reverb feel. Not even the instrumentals are concrete. Omik croons, “Is this real or am I under her spell?” Isn't that the case of all new relationships: let's venture into uncharted territory, neither of us knowing one another more than surface value, and see where this road takes us together without using a map. Not the most logical way to start any journey, but hey, that's love for you. You can't plan out the future, you can't tell your head – with full certainty – that your heart is correct. You just have to simply trust. Omik knows this feeling all too well, stating this isn't the first time the “confusion” has crept its way in – and it probably won't be the last! Why do we question our inner instincts when it comes to love? “Why do we push and shove” the thought of things working out happily ever after, especially when the connection feels so real? Why can't we just… let it be? It's only human to doubt, but at least Omik illuminates there can be a better way with “Uncertain Love”, out tomorrow on all digital outlets.
