Reggae rock legends Fortunate Youth resurface with “Good Times (Roll On)” — that’s right, new FY music for summertime!!! The single stands as the title track off their forthcoming album (due out later this year) and follows 10 previous full-length albums, dozens of EPs and innumerable singles in between since the band’s inception. And, if you missed the first single off the upcoming LP, “Around The World” featuring Mellow Mood, you have some catching up to do.
Fortunate Youth is back out of quarantine and ready to cherish every minute of it.
Mellow and horn-heavy, this laidback lovin’-life single unwinds in true FY fashion. “When I look outside, it doesn’t matter if it’s rainin’ at all,” lead singer Dan Kelly chants. This is due to having “sunshine” in his soul and the uncanny ability to “let the bad vibes go”! Man, I wish all of us could live like that… simply exist in the moment, skipping over negative thoughts like stones skipping on water. Welcome to the way Fortunate Youth operates — at the divine level of NOW. And, as luck would have it, “good times” keep coming every day.
“We’re trying to change the world through the music we write and play, and the lives we live out performing onstage,” comments Kelly. “We always hope our music can change the outlook of anyone’s day.”
And, that it has and always will. Be the first to hear this lucky-to-alive summertime jam via the links below. With the band out on the road again, be sure to not only check out the new track, but hit up one of their live shows when they play a town near you. You won’t regret it!
