Soulful singer-songwriter Rebecca Arscott returns with an emotionally-charged account of a stormy relationship in “In Your Rain”. Premiering today only on Top Shelf Music before it hits all digital outlets tomorrow, the new bluesy single explores the manipulation involved when you know someone isn’t right for you, yet you keep going back for more. “You fill me up with lies, then you run and hide,” Arscott accuses although, moments later, she confesses her need to fall back in line — “I can’t get to you”.
Wrapped in woe, “In Your Rain” shines a light on the voices silenced by dirty love.
And, what a downtrodden (yet not completely defeated) timbre this track has! Aiding Arscott in the single’s creation is HIRIE drummer Matt Benoit and guitarist Blaine Dillinger, the latter of which produced the single out of his home studio. After being mixed and mastered by Ondrej Tvarozek, the end result of “In Your Rain” is a powerful ballad of following your head over your heart… an easier achievement said than done.
