WORLD VIDEO PREMIERE: A-Mac & The Height “Where I’m At”

Denver-based hip hop-meets-funk band A-Mac & The Height is gearing up for an album release in February 2020, teasing fans with a funky, fresh sound in the leading single “Where I’m At” a few weeks ago. Not only that, but Top Shelf Music is happy to host the world premiere of the single’s music video today only before its release elsewhere!

Being a horn-heavy, happy-go-lucky track, “Where I’m At” centers around living for the moment versus disillusionment.

Being a horn-heavy, happy-go-lucky track, “Where I’m At” centers around living for the moment versus disillusionment. Is there a fine line? The video brings this notion to life, opening with psychedelic colors across the band performing in what seems like a carnival fun house. “An open mind” and “staying present” is where this band is at, considering it’s so easy to get caught up in the status quo these days. Be a part of the machine — that’s what we’re programmed to do. Not with this band… they’re not “a part of the plan”. With a chorus that pulls back to a more reggae rock vibe, A-Mac and his brothers jam on, spreading their message of you only live once.

“The band has been in a ‘good vibes’ and ‘live in the moment’ phase,” explains Alex Mackenzie-Low, (aka “A-Mac”). “This tune is a great reflection of that: taking the best of the past, planning the best for the future, but trying to be genuine and in the moment… that’s where I’m at.”

Like what you see? Make sure to catch the band live as they prepare for their forthcoming album early next year.
