Lua Flora unveils “Top of the World”, feat. Sons of Paradise

North Carolina bands collide, as folk-reggae Lua Flora combines their talents with equally notable dub reggae band Sons of Paradise in the new single “Top of the World”. Recorded at Bassment Lab Studio in Raleigh and produced by Matt McClanahan (of Sons of Paradise), “Top of the World” is an encouraging ego-check when you “think you’ve made it”.

Lua Flora says love is the measure of success, not wealth.

With a rocksteady reggae beat and a booming bass, “Top of the World” starts easy and melodic — a light, laidback recluse from the grind. Lead singer Evan Button brings to light how to “enrich your soul” away from monetary gain; life is about earthly pleasures over material in order to truly be fulfilled. For, status is all relative! A poor man immersed in love is richer than a billionaire alone in a mansion full of toys. Sean Gorham’s emphatic bass lines and Hinton Edgerton’s harmonic vocals, “Top of the World” puts you in a humbling, yet motivated mood to seize the day. Correctly, that is.

Following Sons of Paradise’s verse comes an equally sensational bridge, where the beat gives way to a more dub style, echoing with reverb in a most ethereal way. The listener is transported upwards almost as if floating — yet another audible metaphor that the “top” is subjective.

“Top of the World” is now available on the digital outlets below and make sure to follow this talented trio via their social links! Lua Flora is destined to rise all the way to the “Top of the World”, after all.
