KBong, Boostive & Vana Liya at Solana Beach’s Belly Up
On Thursday September 23rd, San Diego’s Belly Up Tavern hosted some of the best local southern California reggae and soul groups — KBong, Boostive and Vana Liya. The venue had a warm, intimate setting, filled with great vibes and fans excited to finally attend more fun-filled concerts.
It was a pleasure to attend and see some much-loved bands up close and personal.
Vana Liya opened up the night, after recently releasing her absolutely stunning debut album Little Kahuna. As usual, she hypnotized the audience with her ethereal voice and adorable personality, both of which shines brightly through her music. Boostive took the stage next, with their massive team of talented musicians, bringing us to a whole other world of music with their unique blend of dub reggae, soul and hip hop. It captivated the audience. For a band that typically has up to 14 members playing together, it sure felt like a party onstage!
Ending the night on a cheerful note was KBong, who performed hits from his latest album Let Love Lead, alongside guitarist Johnny Cosmic (of Stick Figure) and talented violinist Derek Waldmann (of Man of the Forests). His music is incredibly relatable and uplifting for everyone who tunes in. You can tell how much he adores his audience, for his connection with them is unlike any other. It was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces in the crowd, as we gathered together again with our mutual love for this music mixed with the adoration of these talented people, who work hard to give us such great concert experiences!
