Nothing But Thieves stole the hearts of Minneapolis music lovers

Fans lined the block on either side of the First Avenue music venue entrance on Monday, waiting to enter the sold out Nothing But Thieves headlining show in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The iconic venue, known for its rich musical history, provided the perfect backdrop for the night’s small but mighty lineup of performances. The rustic brick walls and the unique architecture created a sense of nostalgia and authenticity. The intimate setting allowed for an up-close and personal experience.

Hailing from Hastings, United Kingdom, beat-punk band Kid Kapichi kicked off the night. They wasted no time in making their presence known. With groovy bass lines and punchy lyrics, they exhibited a raw energy that was impossible to ignore. Their set was a whirlwind of jumping and high kicks. It was clear that they were living in the moment and giving it their all, leaving everything on the stage during their first ever performance in Minnesota.

As a relatively new band on the scene, Kid Kapichi proved that they have what it takes to leave a lasting impression. They set the bar high for the rest of the night.

When Nothing But Thieves took the stage, the energy in the venue skyrocketed.

The crowd erupted with cheers and applause as the band members walked out, ready to deliver an unforgettable performance. Being one of the most promising UK alternative rock bands, the expectations were high, and they did not disappoint. Their stage presence was magnetic, captivating the audience from the very first note.

Each member showcased their immense talent, from Conor Mason’s powerful and haunting vocals to Joe Langridge-Brown’s intricate guitar solos. The chemistry between the band members was palpable, as they effortlessly moved together in perfect harmony. The crowd couldn’t help but sing along to every word, their enthusiasm echoing throughout the venue.

Nothing But Thieves’ setlist was a perfect mix of old beloved hits like “Amsterdam” and “Trip Switch”, as well as new releases from their latest album Dead Club City (which was released in June of 2023). The blend kept fans on their toes, allowing energy levels to remain high throughout the night. Each song was delivered with passion and precision, showcasing their immense talent and creativity. Each band member had their moment to shine, from the powerful vocals to the intricate guitar solos and infectious drum beats. It felt like a true rock concert experience, with the energy flowing back and forth between the stage and the audience.

As the set came to an end, the band left concertgoers with a message of hope in the form of their song “Overcome”. The lyrics echoed around the room:

“Redefine the pain to something more, and we shall overcome as we’ve done before.”

Nothing But Thieves proved why they are one of the top UK alternative rock bands of our time. Their performance of the hit songs was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving the crowd in awe and craving more. It was a truly unforgettable experience that will be etched in our memories for years to come.
