Clear your calendar mid-October and start rallying your crew because Mission Bayfest is coming back to take over the bay shores of San Diego. From October 17th through 19th, Mission Bay — a coastal paradise, just north of the downtown San Diego area — will turn into one giant celebration filled with live music, sunshine, good food, and that unbeatable Cali reggae vibe.
Bayfest isn’t the kind of event where you just show up, see a show, and go home. It’s the kind of weekend where you lose track of time, because you’re too busy dancing, hanging out with friends, and soaking up everything around you. The salty air, the sound of the water in the background, and our famous epic fall sunsets that make you stop mid-song just to admire will be full force. This is San Diego showing off in the best way it knows how.
And the 2025 lineup is stacked with American reggae legends, local favorites, and rising stars.
Friday kicks off with Slightly Stoopid repping a hometown show, alongside the likes of 311 and Cali reggae favorites like Fortunate Youth, HIRIE, and Arise Roots. Saturday then will bring a mix of sounds with reggae rock founders Sublime (fronted by Bradley’s son Jakob Nowell), roots icons Steel Pulse, plus conscious hip hop from KRS-ONE, party music from Chromeo doing a DJ set, and plenty of funky dance vibes to keep the crowd moving.
If that wasn’t enough, Sunday closes it out with more top-of-the-top reggae scene names: Rebelution, Pepper, The Elovators, Rome, alongside a wave of local talent. What a perfect wrap-up of the weekend to end on a high note (pun intended)!
Between sets, attendees can grab a bite from some of San Diego’s best food trucks, sip on craft beers or cocktails, and check out local art and merch vendors. With sailboats gliding by and the stage glowing as the sun goes down, Mission Bayfest’s setting is as unforgettable as all the music.
Bayfest has always had an amazing reputation and this sister fest to the OG Bayfest held in the summertime in San Diego holds up. You might see old friends, meet new ones, or discover a new favorite band.
