Rock radio kings Shinedown have spent more than two decades building an extended ‘family’ through constant touring and consistently releasing emotionally driven music. The band holds the record for the most #1 songs in Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay history — with 23 tunes topping the chart. “Safe and Sound” from their latest release Ei8ht is already Shinedown’s fourth biggest hit.
Out the multitude of songs, it’s Shinedown’s crossover smash “A Symptom Of Being Human” that has inspired the creation of their very first festival weekend — the Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend. The inaugural event is set to be hosted at the Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida (on the panhandle near Destin, if you know the area) this October 23th through the 25th, 2026.
Let’s revisit the lyrics…
Shinedown’s “A Symptom Of Being Human” literally states: “I’ve never been the favorite // Thought I’d seen it all // Till I got my invitation to the Lunatic Ball.” This fest simply can’t fail. With it being their event, Shinedown will be playing two headlining sets across the three-day beach weekend, giving fans a chance to hear more of their favorite songs than at a typical festival or arena show.
Bush will headline on Saturday night. Supporting acts include Hanson, Living Colour, Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm, From Ashes To New, and more. And it’s not just music; there will be three comedians performing, too: Chris Porter, Ryan Rainbro, and Shane Torres. Do you listen to podcasts? At this event, you can watch one of two being created live! The Seemingly Unknown podcast features Zach Myers, John Guarnieri, and Paul Dominguez covering a wide variety of topics, while Boos, Brews & BBQ has Barry Kerch, John Guarnieri, and Ty Sherrell dishing out ghost stories over local cuisine.

This festival is less restrictive than a rock-and-roll cruise, with the option of staying at the nearby hotels or other rental options. Fans are free to make their own plans during the day or take advantage of many of the festival’s curated activities, since the music takes place at the beach in the evenings. There are several seating and standing room options, all described on the fest’s website, but be warned, tickets are close to selling out!
