Summertime is always poppin' in sunny San Diego and the annual Beer X Fest, hosted by heralded SD alt radio station 91x, has become a local summer tradition. The 4th Annual had a stacked lineup from start to finish on June 23rd, with Band of Gringos kicking off the event once the gates opened to all early beer drinkers. And, what incentive to arrive early at the Embarcadero for the openers: free unlimited beer tastings until 4pm, all from local brewers! San Diego is known for several things and craft beer is quickly climbing to the top of the list. With beer flowing throughout the grounds, Marujah and Ethan Tucker Band set the drinking soundtrack. Boy, can Ethan Tucker shred…
…free unlimited beer tastings until 4pm, all from local brewers!
The reggae-rock took a backseat to ska legends Fishbone next, who's high energy is always invigorating. Speaking of high energy, Pepper kept the crowd pumped up with reggae rock hit after hit. By this time, vibes were high along with the beer consumption, so Stick Figure came out to roaring applause. Stick's famous touring canine Cocoa the Tour Dog chased inflatable balls until they popped and was in doggy heaven when Golden State Greens launched their inflatable joints on attendees! Once the sun started to set, headliners and local heroes Slightly Stoopid finally had the chance to slay their hometown show – nearly marking halfway through their extensive School's Out For Summer Tour. Until next year, Beer X stands as another success.
