Flogging Molly sets Anaheim ablaze
On the memorable evening of September 5th, the City National Grove of Anaheim was set ablaze with the fiery performances of Flogging Molly and their supporting acts, the Vandoliers and The Bronx.
This night would leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all who attended.
Kicking off the festivities, the Vandoliers, hailing from the heart of Texas, took the stage by storm with their electrifying country-rock set. As their Instagram boldly claims, “Your favorite punk band’s favorite country band,” they effortlessly lived up to this description. The energy they exuded was infectious, captivating the entire audience. Their performance was a whirlwind of fun and excitement, leaving us eager for their return to Southern California.
Following the Vandoliers, The Bronx, a punk powerhouse from Los Angeles, wasted no time in launching into their set. Those fortunate enough to have seen them perform before knew what to expect, and they were not disappointed. The Bronx exploded onto the stage, matching the audience’s fervor and enthusiasm. It was evident that they were relishing every moment, sharing the same joy as their fans.
By the time Flogging Molly emerged, the crowd was thoroughly engrossed, their energy levels at an all-time high. The anticipation had been building for this moment, as fans had been eagerly waiting to witness the band’s performance, and it did not disappoint. As I had longed to photograph Flogging Molly for some time, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the experience.
Flogging Molly’s setlist was a perfect blend of old classics and new gems. Hits like “Drunken Lullabies,” “Paddy’s Lament,” “Swagger,” “Tobacco Island,” “Seven Deadly Sins,” and “Float” had the audience singing along with fervor. The band also treated us to newer tracks like “A Song of Liberty” and “Keep the Man Down,” showcasing their timeless musical prowess.
The night was a celebration of music, dance, and unity, leaving us all drenched in sweat, our voices hoarse from singing along.
For Flogging Molly fans in attendance, this unforgettable evening would be etched in their memories forever. It was a testament to the power of live music, bringing people together and creating moments that would be cherished for a lifetime.
