LakeDub performs live at I & I Brewing with Last Fix
After a long year of no live music, I and I Brewery in Chino, CA had its first live post-COVID performance on March 27th and it did not disappoint. The well-attended event invited LakeDub to perform and to return music to the venue. This was LakeDub’s second show in their Blacked Out/ Wide Awake Tour, joined by their friends Last Fix — another local band from Long Beach. The show was outdoors and it could not have been on a more beautiful day, as the sunshine cradled the crowd. Guests were feeling fine as they consumed first-class tacos and some amazing beers from the brewery.
The parking lot was filled with smiling faces ready for an incredible afternoon.
Last Fix went on first and these guys brought the heat; singing songs from their EP Keep It Simple…, along with some covers, they had the crowd dancing in no time. After Last Fix performed, the crowd was pumped up and ready for LakeDub. Feeding off the audience’s approving cheers, LakeDub began their set and demonstrated why every time LakeDub performs it is electric. The way lead singer Sammy Dread jumps around, with his dreads flowing in the air, is a magical sight. LakeDub performed a few unreleased originals, some songs from their Rooted EP, as well as some Sublime covers. These boys amaze any crowd they perform in front of. Lead guitar Pat “The Cat” Ruiz blew everyone away with guitar shredding guitar prowess.
All in all, everything felt right — like the light after the COVID storm. Good weather, a happy crowd, great music and an amazing venue with topnotch food and drinks. It was a nice preview of Summer 2021!
