Steel Pulse at Santa Maria’s Presqu’ile Winery
On February 8th, Santa Maria was blessed to host reggae legends Steel Pulse and local favorites Resination at Presqu’ile Winery. Resination is a five-piece reggae band consisting of Vance Fahie (lead singer), Thomas Cuffe (keyboardist), Timmy Cordero (drummer), Patrick Pearson (lead guitarist) and Michael Jimenez (bassist). They started off the evening, with their authentic and upbeat reggae music and definitely were good at getting the crowd involved to sing and dance alongside them! I have seen Resination too many times to count and every time I do, they always blow my mind!

Next up was Steel Pulse, who had just got done playing the One Love Cali Reggae music festival down in Long Beach. This was the band’s third time playing Presqu’ile Winery and every time they play, they sell out. This was my first time shooting photos for the band although second time seeing them live. When they came onstage, everyone went absolutely crazy for them. Lead singer and founding member David Hinds had crazy energy up onstage, running around and doing an amazing job interacting with the crowd. Steel Pulse is one band keeping ‘original’ roots reggae music alive! When photographing the band, some of them would see my camera and point their instruments towards me in order for me to get cool and creative photos. What a treat!
When the band finished the night, they came down off the stage to interact with fans and take photos with them! Don’t hesitate to grab tickets to see Steel Pulse in action if they perform in a city near you! They will be on tour this summer with Keznamdi, The Green and Rebelution, so make sure to catch that when it comes around!
