Wiz Khalifa & Logic wrap up Vinyl Verse Tour in St. Louis

The final stop of the Vinyl Verse Tour took place on a rainy Friday night in St. Louis. Fans gathered at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater for an unmissable hip hop event: Wiz Khalifa and Logic, who brought a hard-hitting cast of friends with them to keep the party going the entire night.

The show was opened by a handful of rappers, deejays and singers, all of whom brought their own energy to the stage and took their turn to pump the crowd up before the main event. Among these openers was a rapper named C Dot Castro from Maryland, who had the crowd jumping along with him as he bounced across the stage.

Another opener was a rapper and singer from Kentucky named Rubi Rose.

She and her backup dancers had the crowd going wild with their moves and made the whole place feel like a party. The final performer on the way to the headlining acts was the legendary DJ Drama. Known for his work with T.I. and his wildly popular Gangsta Grillz mixtapes, DJ Drama brought the house down with his set. The crowd went crazy as he blasted them with a mix of new and old hip hop jams, while raining down free merch on their heads.

Finally, it was time for the first of the headliners — Wiz Khalifa. Wiz took the stage fueled by the roar of the crowd and brought insanely high energy levels throughout the entire show. Powering his way through a deep catalogue of feel-good hip hop jams and bright, cheery stoner anthems, Wiz reminded the crowd why he has been such a prominent figure in the culture for so long now. The entire venue came alive, as the crowd sang along to all their favorite hits from the beloved rapper. As the show reached its finale, Wiz was joined onstage by his Taylor Gang crew, who ended the show with a bang, rapping and waving their flags as the pyro went off around them.

Following Wiz was the second and final headliner of the night, Logic.

His set was much more fast-paced than the one before it. Most of his songs comprised of quick and nearly relentless bars, displaying the wordplay and flow that Logic fans go so crazy for. It felt like the rapper understood that since this was the last show on the tour, he had to leave everything onstage. The rapping was nearly nonstop, pausing only for Logic to fill the crowd in on his mind and show them his freshly inked “Taylor Gang” tattoo. Then, without warning, he was back into his rapid-fire delivery of intricately crafted lyrics. Almost as impressive as the intricacy of Logic’s wordplay are the fans who can go bar-for-bar with him; the crowd was chock full of them, red in the face and losing their breath trying to keep up with the man onstage.

Now that the Vinyl Verse Tour is over, we may not know when we will see Wiz or Logic perform together again, but we do know that when and if they do, it will be a party you don’t want to miss!
