Ziggy Marley at the Ventura Fairgrounds: Show 1

The return of the Concerts in Your Car series at Ventura Fairgrounds began on April 17th, with Ziggy Marley doing two beautiful shows in honor of his father, Bob Marley, on the 40th anniversary of his death. Energetically kicking off the concert, Ziggy’s singer and DJ daughter Zuri Marley opened up, with her hits to getting the crowd pumped up, especially after a long hiatus of live music from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Ziggy and his team of eight incredibly talented veteran musicians took the stage at 5pm, starting the Day Show by playing some of his father’s greatest hits such as “Exodus”, “Get Up Stand Up” and “I Shot the Sheriff”.

Although the performers had to follow safety protocols and wear masks, you could still see their smiles with their eyes and feel their pure joy of performing for the many fans inside and even outside the venue. The show was a lively crowdpleaser, a great way to start returning to normalcy and an epic spring and summer season of live music.
