After a slew of cancellation announcements, Slightly Stoopid and Cloud 9 Adventures officially bring back the party (and the shenanigans) with their all-inclusive destination music festival Closer to the Sun! With fans waiting nearly two years to return to their beloved concert Utopian destination due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stoopidheads are rejoicing and already preparing for their getaway adventure to the seventh run of CTTS at the luxurious Hard Rock Hotel in Riveria Maya, Mexico this December 8-12th, 2021.

Let’s get this end of year party started!

The intimate and gorgeous live music paradise event will include three shows by Slightly Stoopid, with various reggae and hip hop artists joining the epic lineup over four full days of music. Here is the rundown:

  • Rebelution — 2 shows, (1 main stage & 1 acoustic)
  • Stephen Marley — 1 show
  • Iration — 2 shows
  • Cypress Hill — 1 show
  • Pepper — 2 shows
  • Common Kings — 1 show
  • HIRIE — 1 show
  • The Movement — 2 shows
  • DENM — 1 show

Headlining the event alongside the fun Slightly Stoopid duo are southern Cali reggae crew Rebelution, who just announced their seventh studio album In The Moment, due out this July. Eight-time GRAMMY Award winner Stephen Marley — of the legendary musically talented Marley family — is set to make an appearance. Hawaii-rooted and Cali-based Iration, who also just released their seventh album Coastin last summer, will play two full live shows. And, to switch it up, the fantastic west coast hip hop group Cypress Hill is bringing epic grooves to smoke to in the pool. San Diego’s reggae-rock trio Pepper, GRAMMY-nominated Common Kings, reggae queen HIRIE and east coast alternative reggae group The Movement will all be joining the party, as well. Last, but not least, the rising new multi-genre SoCal songwriter and musician DENM will be playing one full live show.

Guests can enjoy performances from a vast array of spaces at this all-inclusive resort.

Early performances begin at the Beach Stage, where you can watch while sunbathing on a floaty in the pool or in the ocean. Then the party kicks off on the Main Stage Courtyard smack in the middle of the resort with plenty of viewing space, continuing into the night at the Stairway to Heaven Stage.

In addition to seeing some of your favorite reggae artists, guests can enjoy various activities at the resort. A variety of lavish restaurants, pools, spas, bars, lounges, an action sports center and even an impressive waterpark are available for attendees to enjoy on location. Or, you can even get away off the hotel grounds by taking advantage of local excursions in the jungle with zip-lines, experience beautiful sea life through snorkeling in crystal clear waters or immerse yourself in local Mayan culture and history at the ruins. Also, if you want to get your creative juices flowing while sipping on cocktails and being party night owls, stay tuned for the official 2021 Theme Night announcement!

For humanitarian guests and those who like to give back to the community, Positive Legacy, the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit addition to Cloud 9 Adventures, will be there with their Day of Service activities to help make the local community a better place. There will also be a charity event with memorabilia going up for auction, with proceeds going back to Positive Legacy to continue helping support local environmental and sustainable practices and projects. Furthermore, there will be a donation drive available to assist local schools, medical clinics and children.

If this sounds like your type of mighty, majestic vacation, make sure to check out the Hard Rock’s all-inclusive packages!
