Madrid’s Mad Cool Fest releases first-round 2021 artists

Falling in line alongside all the rest of this year’s large-scale music events, Mad Cool Festival in Madrid had to make the tough decision to reschedule for 2021. What was originally planned for this week in Spain was going to be beyond lit, mind you. Four sunny Spanish celebratory days with the best in alternative rock and pop music was the goal… and, luckily, the Mad Cool clan knew that a year’s postponement wasn’t going to stop the fest from reveling its 5th Annual in style.

First off, it’s Europe… you can’t go wrong simply by location.

Second, Mad Cool Festival brings to the stage an extensive variety of acts from around the world — and, we mean extensive! Over four full days of music July 7th-10th, Mad Cool boasts 132 performances and, as of this week, we now know a whopping 94 of them. The biggest travesty of the reschedule is the fact that Mad Cool was not being able to lock down Taylor Swift for next year; T. Swift was among the main attractions for 2020. Mad Cool is very vocal and apologetic concerning the headliner change. However, a hefty amount of talent is proffered in the new lineup (with several headlining acts to be announced!!). Sharing the stages will be Twenty One Pilots, Placebo, The Killers, Deftones, Mumford & Sons, Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pixies, Royal Blood, The Struts, Carly Rae Jepsen, Glass Animals, Foals, Puscifer, Alt-J, London Grammar, Major Lazer and too many more to list. Plus, Mad Cool has disclosed that the main headliner for Wednesday and Thursday has yet to be announced, as well as one more headliner for Friday!

If that wasn’t enough, Mad Cool will further announce the winners of their Mad Cool Talent Competition presented by Vibra Mahou in 2021, allowing four more bands in the trajectory. This festival may only be in its 5th year, yet it packs more FOMO than Coachella if you miss it.

Want in? Heading to Spain is easy, since the fest literally takes over the city. Single-day and three-day passes are still available — with VIP options if you want to get real snazzy with it — starting as low as €75! Unfortunately, four-day passes are completely sold out at this time, due to the fest honoring passes from 2020. Speaking of, let’s talk COVID. If you purchases tickets for 2020 or are on a current payment plan, your ticket will be honored and payment plans will be refunded for the new dates. Hopefully, this pandemic will die down for festivals to resume in 2021 and Mad Cool Fest is dedicated to making the experience safe no matter what.
