Pepper hosts Bradley’s House benefit at One Love afterparty

As if a gorgeous, sunny California day full of 27 of your favorite roots-reggae bands wasn’t enough at the 2020 One Love Cali Reggae Fest, then you found yourself at DiPiazza’s in Long Beach afterward for one hell of a Pepper afterparty!

Pepper invited fans and friends alike to sample their signature wine collection in celebration of Day One, raising awareness and funds for The Nowell Family Foundation. Kellie Nowell, sister of the late Bradley Nowell, is the CEO of the organization aimed at raising funds to open Bradley’s House, a six-bedroom facility to help others in the music industry battling opiate addiction. Along with Kellie, foundation board member Bryndee Conwell was on hand to greet fans as they entered the pizza joint. Proceeds from the night and sales of merchandise from their booth went straight to the cause. Enjoying the evening from the Nowell family were dad and stepmom, “Papa” Jim and Janie Nowell, Kellie’s sons Trevor and Andrew O’Reilly, and few of Bradley and Kellie’s cousins from Hawaii — Mykel and Emily Hicks, as well as Adri Kinhult. Stay tuned for an interview with Kellie coming soon!

What a great way to end the first day of One Love!

You couldn’t turn around inside DiPiazza’s without bumping into your favorite musician from One Love! Kaleo Wassman (of Pepper) kicked off the night off with an acoustic performance, taking requests and encouraging fans to celebrate being alive. Rising artist Kyle Smith jumped up on the stage to jam with Kaleo and Ronnie King. Surprised fans were in for a treat when Ras1 graced the stage with a sweet set of Sublime songs, including “Bad Fish” and “Let’s Go Get Stoned”, and finishing off with Bob Marley’s “Waiting In Vain” alongside Kyle Smith. Chris Nishida and Scotty Brown jumped onstage then, jamming the night away with the guys from Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Lakedub and Tunnel Vision. What a great way to end the first day of One Love! Day Two and Three One Love Cali Reggae Fest galleries going live shortly, so make sure to see if you got snapped.
