Phantasy Tour Trading Cards releases Series Two, feat. 12 bands

Remember all those cards you collected as a kid? Remember the rush of excitement that enveloped the three seconds it took to rip open a new pack and find out what’s inside? Whether it was baseball, wrestling or Pokémon, you just had to collect them all. Well, get ready to welcome back nostalgia with high-quality, officially licensed Phantasy Tour Trading Cards!

It’s time to collect all your favorite players — music players, that is.

A Baltimore-based company felt it was dire time to unleash upon the world a good ol’ fashioned pastime, wrapped in a whole new package. Thus came to be the Phantasy Tour Trading cards, with Series One released back in March of 2020 — right at the peak of COVID — to the benefit of bands, photographers and collectors alike. Featuring nine nationally touring bands, the Phantasy Cards Series One pack bolstered one card per band member, as well as one full-band card each!

Now, you might be thinking, this sounds like a way to profit off struggling bands, especially during this terrible COVID-19 touring downtime. Think again. Portions of the packs’ proceeds go toward all featured band members, as well as the photographers credited for the band photos — both amateur and professional. An endeavor like this couldn’t come at a better time. After Series One was a great success (featuring The Disco Biscuits, Leftover Salmon, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and more), Phantasy Cards brings 12 new bands and 68 new one-of-a-kind trading cards with their Series Two hot off the presses! The second edition showcases a myriad of musical genres by proffering ALO, Ballyhoo!, Billy Strings, Dumpstaphunk, Fortunate Youth, Ghost Light, lespecial, Lotus, Magic Beans, Papadosio, Spafford and Yonder Mountain String Band. What’s more, Series Two includes one randomly selected card per pack and one (of two) checklist cards, containing a collectible puzzle to solve on the back by Phantasy Cards’ official sponsors, Section 119.

Want to see your fave bands in the next series? Phantasy Cards asks music lovers to cast their vote for the next installment here. Choose from the names featured or write your own!
