Reggae in the Hills presents new festy: Fyah on the Water

Since 2011, reggae enthusiasts have flocked to Northern California's Calaveras County Fairgrounds in Angels Camp, Sacramento to partake in a growing movement known as Reggae in the Hills – three days of sunshine, music and more every second weekend of June. Because of its increasing popularity, the RITH team have decided to reward its followers with another two-day festival this upcoming 420 weekend on April 18th and 19th in Camp Pollock, Sacramento, CA before the annual summertime rush.

Appropriately dubbed Fyah on the Water – due to it being held alongside Northern Cali's American River – the festival's debut lineup is anything but elementary. Tribal Seeds, Kottonmouth Kings and Marlon Asher have signed on to the headline the event, sharing the stage with many names like Potluck, Arden Park Roots, RBL Posse, Junior Toots, Mystic Roots, Indubious and more. FOTW, like RITH, appeals to crowds both old and young – a beer garden for adults and crafts for children – which is why the weekend is welcome to all ages. More activities in between musical performances include bonfires, live art, vendor shopping, sideshows and tribal drum circles conducted by Drumming Sounds' Andrew Ecker out of Phoenix, Arizona. If you get hungry, there is Caribbean-style food offered onsite, but surrounding restaurants would also appreciate your business if you so choose to venture off the campgrounds. Speaking of camping, early-bird passes for the weekend are now available and range from $30 general admission to $60 including onsite camping and parking; if you are undecided about parking, a per dium pass is only $5. If you want the most bang for your buck, consider purchasing the VIP package: a 2-day general admission pass complete with a VIP laminate, a Fyah on the Water T-shirt, backstage access, drink tickets and a premier camping spot. Got little ones? Children under the age of 12 are admitted free and make sure to hurry – the early-bird price will not last long. For the festival lover that cannot wait for this year's summer selection, the premier Fyah on the Water is bound to be a trip-worthy experience and the ultimate RITH pre-party.
