Sad Summer Fest to hit the road once more for 2022

Hey emo kids! We might be in a post-Warped Tour era, but that doesn’t mean all our emo rock punk summer vibes are lost! Sad Summer Fest is back for its third installment and have yet another STUDDED lineup across 8,177 miles of the United States. In fact, they’re even bringing Waterparks(s)! Thats right, Waterparks will be co-headlining with hardcore fan-favorites Neck Deep, the emo priests of Mayday Parade and more! Ever since its inaugural year in 2019, the Journey’s sponsored tour has grown and filled the Warped holes in our hearts.

We all have a very Sad Summer to look forward to. Let us rejoice and prepare the pits!

Taking place between July 8th and August 5th, the Sad Summer tour will travel throughout the country, kicking off in Sacramento, CA and landing for a grand finale in Milwaukee, WI. In addition to powerhouses Waterparks (of 300 Entertainment), Neck Deep (of Hopeless Records) and Mayday Parade (of Rise Records), there will be an incredible lineup of support by State Champs, Hot Mulligan, Against the Current, The Summer Set and Magnolia Park or LØLØ (who will split dates on the tour). Honestly, this year’s rundown brings the best parts of all variations of alternative music and packs it into one spectacular day. Dang, now THAT’S a party! Magnolia Park will play July 7th through July 22nd, while LØLØ is set to perform from July 23rd until the tour’s conclusion. That said, you’ll see me at least two destinations on this tour — I can’t miss either of those!

In addition to the larger than life lineup, the festival will also bring back its nonprofit partner, Reverb, to implement sustainability efforts alongside the tour, as well as Our Music My Body to continue the tour’s commitment to creating a safer space for all involved.

What can we expect to hear on the tour this year? Well… undoubtedly the big hits “Turbulent” by Waterparks and “Wish You Were Here” from Neck Deep; I’m personally most excited for “Miserable at Best” Mayday Parade (don’t forget your old-school lights or to charge your phone for the flashlight!!). I am also really looking forward to hearing some new music, such as Hot Mulligan’s newest single with NoahFinnce “After Therapy” and anything from MP’s What It Means to Fall Apart that was released earlier this year. The two sets I personally need to catch will be from LØLØ — to hear her new single “debbie downer”, with Maggie Lindemann — and Against The Current to slay their newest single “Wildfire”. No matter which stage you find yourself at, you won’t be able to go wrong!

Tickets for Sad Summer Fest are now on sale to the general public for ALL cities! This is definitely an event that will sell out, so don’t wait on purchasing those tickets! Check out www.sadsummerfest.com for the full tour schedule and your ticket purchase!
